Company History

We began our journey in 1987 to provide a diamond drilling and sawing service to industry from a base in Welwyn. The company grew steadily but over the years increasing the range of services we provide and branching across the sectors that include the building, civil engineering and utility industries. We are as at home working underground in a tunnel to on top of one of London’s iconic skyline buildings, some of the highlights of how we go to where we are today are given below.

The Beginning

1987-1989

Colin White begins to offer a specialised diamond drilling service to the building industry as a sole trader working to the standards he has learnt as a qualified tool maker and precision engineer. CODICUTS is incorporated as a company in 1989.

New Home

1992-1994

Colin is joined by his brother as a fellow director and the company moves into a dedicated business unit on an industrial estate in Welywn Garden City, the work force grows as larger contracts are executed which include large scale civil engineering infrastructure projects such as the Heathrow Tunnel for Laing.

Diversifying

1995

An Excaliber trailer rig is purchased and CODICUTS diversifys into material sampling, contracts quickly follow, work carried out include core sampling the runways at USAF Lakenheath for Desert Storm and more locally in the new Hatfield tunnel.

Landmark Project

1998

CODICUTS starts on site at the Millenium Dome after the first concrete pour and maintains a drilling team onsite for the duration of the construction working for all of the major contractors on site.
