Confined Space Diamond Drilling
Haileybury College is a leading independant school providing boarding education for 780 pupils, it is located in the countryside close to Hertfordshire on the site of the old East India Training College.
CODICUTS were approached by main contractors Ekins Builders to carry out to carry out the installation of 2 pump sumps as part of remadial works to the colleges swimming pool. The work was carried out under confined space conditions and involved.
- Stitch drilling two 600mm wide openings in the 450mm thick concrete slab.
- Excavating further to a depth of 650mm by hand
- Installing 2 number 450mm diameter perforated manholes and back filling with pea gravel
- Mixing and placing concrete to man hole surrounds
- Removal of all debris and spoil from confined space.
CODICUTS can carry out diamond drilling sawing, concrete and structural repairs together with remedial works in confined spaces such as culverts, tunnels, tanks and chambers. Team leaders and members are trained to the Thames Water and City and Guilds standard.
